ABOUT

FROM PASSION TO THE STAGE

A Vision 20 Years in
the Making

JD’s Stage Bistro brings a twenty-year dream to life—an investment in downtown Chelsea shaped by vision, craftsmanship, and community. Co-founded with Jeff Daniels, the concept blends chef-driven, Michigan-forward cuisine and craft cocktails with an intimate, state-of-the-art listening room. What began as an idea behind a Main Street storefront has evolved into a destination where food, music, and atmosphere are thoughtfully intertwined.

The experience begins at the door: handcrafted cherry wood with stained-glass detail—an olive in a martini glass—hinting at gatherings ahead. An Art Deco-inspired marquee nods to Chelsea’s historic charm, while inside, a 1920s-style chandelier and descending staircase reveal two distinct worlds. The stage room is moody and cinematic, with cabaret seating, a corner stage, and state-of-the-art acoustics designed so every lyric feels personal. In contrast, the bistro is bright and welcoming, centered around a custom wood-fired oven and opening seamlessly to a screened patio for year-round connection.

Throughout the space, storytelling is intentional. The vaulted Newsroom offers a wine vault, private bar, and adaptable setting for celebrations and corporate events, while the Vinyl Lounge creates a secluded retreat for pure, analog listening. Chelsea history, music memorabilia, and tributes to Jeff Daniels’s career are woven into every corner—honoring the town, its creative spirit, and the community that helped bring this vision to life.
