Chelsea, MI — JDs Stage Bistro will officially open its doors with four unforgettable nights of live music as Jeff Daniels takes the stage for the first time at Southeast Michigan’s newest live music venue. From Wednesday, August 26, through Saturday, August 29, 2026, the Opening Celebration marks the debut of Chelsea’s newest destination for exceptional dining and live entertainment, inviting guests to experience dinner, drinks, and outstanding performances under one roof.
JDs Stage Bistro is the result of a partnership between Jeff Daniels and Tannin Property Group, who spent nearly two years bringing a shared vision to life. Together, they transformed a historic downtown Chelsea building into a destination where chef-driven dining and live music come together. The venue will host nationally touring artists, regional favorites, and emerging talent while offering a menu rooted in Michigan flavors and hospitality, creating a destination that feels distinctly Chelsea while welcoming visitors from across the region.
“This has always been about creating a place where great music, great food, and great conversation come together,” said Jeff Daniels. “We’re excited to finally open the doors and welcome everyone.“
Each evening of the Opening Celebration features Jeff Daniels alongside acclaimed musical guests, giving audiences a unique opportunity to experience the venue as it begins an exciting new chapter. During the Opening Celebration, the Bistro opens at 4:00 p.m. each evening, with Stage Room doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Performances begin at 7:00 p.m., giving guests time to enjoy dinner and drinks before the show.
JDs Stage Bistro offers two distinct experiences under one roof.
The Bistro is the restaurant, open for dinner whether or not there’s a performance. Guests are welcome to make a reservation and enjoy the chef-driven, Michigan-forward menu, handcrafted cocktails, and warm hospitality.
The Stage is an intimate performance room designed around exceptional sound. Every show ticket includes a reserved table, with full food and beverage service before and throughout the performance. Dinner and drinks are ordered at the table and billed separately.

Jeff Daniels with The War And Treaty
The War And Treaty, the husband-and-wife duo of Michael and Tanya Trotter, have become one of the most acclaimed acts in American roots music. Blending soul, country, gospel, and rock, the duo has earned GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM nominations and was named Americana Music Association Duo/Group of the Year for two consecutive years. Jeff Daniels with Southern Avenue
Memphis-based Southern Avenue blends soul, blues, gospel, and rock into a powerful, genre-defying sound. Their 2025 album Family earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album, while lead vocalist Tierinii Jackson also contributed to the GRAMMY-winning Sinners soundtrack, including the original song “Can’t Win for Losin'” and a celebrated rendition of “Wang Dang Doodle.”

Jeff Daniels with The Ben Daniels Band & Brad Phillips
Jeff Daniels closes opening week alongside his son, Ben Daniels, and The Ben Daniels Band, joined by acclaimed Michigan multi-instrumentalist Brad Phillips. The Ben Daniels Band brings a distinctive Americana sound rooted in blues, rock, jazz, and folk. Phillips is also known for his expressive performances on violin, mandolin, and guitar, including his acclaimed work with Patti LuPone: A Life in Notes.

Tickets for all Opening Celebration performances go on sale Monday, August 10, at 10:00 a.m. EST. Because of the venue’s intimate setting, seating is limited, and advance ticket purchases are strongly encouraged.
Opening week, August 11, marks the beginning of regular dining service and a year-round lineup of live performances at JDs Stage Bistro, establishing a new destination for music, dining, and memorable experiences in the heart of downtown Chelsea.
